Thanks James. Do you read Italian? I would be interested in knowing what exactly those air coils are for, I assume interstage but the picture is not worth a thousand words. It appears that the formers are plastic, but, could they be wax? That would b...

Just so long as the Berringer has a Jan Didden designed output board and has all crossovers done by 300 Hz and the 300 to 20 kHz is handled by a VERY GOOD, VERY MUSICAL and moderately slow tube amp, just to get the important part back into the middle...

el`Ol,it is quite fascinating how well you depicted (listening to WP 8!) what I heard, listening to some 5.xI.E. "some characteristic shining or radiance probably induced by the breakup of carbon-doped paper cones in combination with the anorganic-pa...

Romy,Now that you have removed the slope try out the treated tweeter I provided you with so long ago, the one that sounded exactly like the untreated EV's. We would all like to know how that matches with the S2, in an unlimited application..... might...

That corona PP discharge can be a mess...... make sure you XYZ to ensure a proper discharge path and then scout the local territory for a proper receptacle. The RDH says nothing. But, if you read it you can learn how to design power supplies that don'...

If Bud agreed maybe they could be posted or placed for downloading somewhere in this site or elsewhere. I am very interested in knowing more about it.Regards,aj...

Bare ,tick 400V B+ wire does look a little scary .Those noval sockets are very nice -are those teflon ones ??Bud Purvine is also using "electron pool" concept but I think the application is a little different ;0)RGRDS, W...

Hey Bud,Are you saying that the battery materials are less limited in fast dynamic potential energy release than the capacitor materials? I thought batteries had far greater materials limitations compared to capacitors in regards to fast potential re...

If you are brave and have a steady hand go here for a way to SOLVE Lowther problems. Without reconning. Ask Jon Ver Halen of Lowther America for his opinion too.http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1248682#post1248682 post 345http://...

You need to find an individual who can design series crossovers. Both JBL and Altec used these, because they sounded best. You will need to look for an individual near where you live because they will have to test the drivers as the design progresses...

What happens at year 100 & day 1? Can we get our money back if the magnets explode from the machined aluminum, RFI wrapped, tar filled box before year 100? Bud...

Romy,What is the possibility of just dumping the wav files to cd as a data disc? Not as a red book audio file, just a copy from your HD. Or, we could just start sending you our spare hard drives for data dumps, I have two 30 gigs laying about uselessl...

at klamfil@earthlink.net and I'll check with Bud the shipping details.Since you have untreated pair it would be interesting to hear the difference ,also on a few occasions I behaved like a prick so I'd like to make it up somehow ;) Regard...

Bud, when you retie, you might start to experiment with them.... http://www.goodsoundclub.com/pdf/RxTransformer1.pdfhttp://www.goodsoundclub.com/pdf/RxTransformer2.pdfThe caT...

If you are going to use an LC filter, be sure that the choke has a big enough gap that the L does not change across the line level voltage range. Specifically ask Sowter about this. For instance, the choke I spoke to you about changes from 2.8 Henry ...

Bud, I have a question to ask. I have two back terminals, to which I need to attach the loop? Would it be the one that has the secondary of OPT connected to ground? Also, if I milliamp, then do have to do on each of the “back terminal” or one shall b...

Andy,These are sensationaly deep recordings, just as you said they would be. DYNAMICS from a distance, and no artificially sick or flat notes, or hidden masses of groaning monsters.Romy you need to help this man, put his recordings on your broadband ...

How about a motor generator? Both on the same shaft, and, you could even put a CVS constant voltage sine wave transformer in, to supply the electric motor part, to keep the speed constant. About 6 kVa should do it, for both channels. Fill u...

This is a story I love. I have been equally fortunate to have a cat girl friend, once in my life. She is no longer anywhere but in my memory and I miss her touch and her concern....Bud...

The sine wave actually looks quite good no hint of saturation, clipping or wave deformity. Only a single trace, rather than a twisted rope. I suspect that when placed under a load much of the "broken" curve will smooth out. I would also suspect that ...

Well, I do not care about it anymore. Last night I spoke with Bud and, thanks God, he took this project form my hand under his wings. As the result I will be having whatever I need, implemented by the best method possible. I am very enthusiastic and ...

[quote user="Bud"]Perhaps this link and the information trumpeted within will help on this project. Certainly the leader of this pack has solid credentials in HF switching power supplies, though this particular link is actually about roasting transis...

[quote user="Bud"]I actually prefer the essence from the other end of summer, that wet, clear water running sound, so exuberant and hopeful ... though autumnal music has its own joys.. you only need encounter Vivaldi's Four seasons portrayed by...

Romy,All measured tests for unsmoothed frequency response actually show that the violent peaks and valleys in frequency response, that driver mfg's usually will not show you, are just accentuated by EnABL. A friend of mine, one Gary Pimm, pointed out...

Well, what I am trying to do it to smear or to defuse the virtual edge of the horn. It is not exactly the same what Bud does with him application of patterns on the cone driver but it very much similar. Toward to this end any random pattern that woul...

Hi Bud,Thanks for the pointers; I already have a pair of vertically sectioned cores wound from a while back, on white nylon (ugh?!) . Not remotely optimal, but if the concept works I will definitely have to try something along your lines. The tip reg...

Bud, has the military been involved? Seems highly relevant for Sigint and hydrophone applications.

Sounds to me like your switch mode transformer is doing the buzzing. I recently purchased an APC product that charged the battery constantly, so long as it was plugged in. This caused quite a bit of heat and stench, from the hot switch mode power sup...

Romy and Paul,Many years ago, when I worked for Mille Nestorovik he used seperate mains and a sperate ground connection for the entire system. Before turning it on for a listening session, he would send me outside to "water" the ground, for a good ha...

There's no zero-crossing with A2 .833 or equivalent are a good choice for this extreme project and bass performance is excellent, I have heard 833 SE briefly and it has great authority. The driver would best be some sort of small/medium output valve d...
